THE ROAD TO JESUS

Do you want to give your life to Jesus and follow Him?

Choosing to follow Jesus will be the best decision that you ever make. Read on to understand exactly what this means and the steps that you can take today.

Romans 3:23

Within the bible, the book of Romans explains that the state of every human is sinful and the state of God is holy (Romans 3:10 & Romans 3:23).

After establishing that “all have sinned,” the first half of Romans 6:23 explains the depth of this problem and its consequences. Sin separates us from God, and ultimately results in hell, but once we choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are reconciled to God and given the gift of eternal life.

THE HUMAN PROBLEM

'For all have sinned and fallen short of Gods glory'

HUMANITY'S

HOPE IN CHRIST

'But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.'

Romans 5:8

Romans 5:8 explains the hope we have in the love of God expressed through Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter what we may have done in our past or present because Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins when he died on the cross and then rose again on the third day. Jesus loves you and is willing to forgive you and embrace you once you confess and turn away from your sins.

THE SINNER'S

RESPONSE

'9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be savd. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.'

Once we understand our need for a Saviour and recognize that Jesus Christ is that Saviour, we can respond by calling out to Jesus (Romans 10:9-10).

This response is possible for everyone. Romans 10:13 expresses God’s ability to save everyone.

Romans 10:9-10

THE RESULT

'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesu our Lord.'

Romans 6:23

What’s the result of calling out to Jesus and turning away from your sins? - peace and justification. Romans 5:1-2 explains that through faith in Jesus Christ, sinners can enjoy peace with God, no longer separated from God and His holiness because of sin.

With faith in Christ, “there is no condemnation” (Romans 8:1) and believers are gifted eternal life with God (Romans 6:23).

If you’re ready to follow Jesus and would like a fresh start, just repeat the prayer below out loud.

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. Forgive me of my sins. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. I choose to turn away from my sins and turn to you. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Saviour.

Amen.

Congratulations! Now you have accepted Jesus, you have a brand new start, your sins have been forgiven and washed away. There is no longer a need for guilt and shame. You can rest in knowing that Jesus loves you greatly and is committed to helping you every step of the way as you serve Him.
